Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you offer a service in my area?

Pavilion Co. designs and installs bespoke outdoor kitchens, BBQ areas, and oak-framed pavilions across London, the South East, and the Home Counties. We are also happy to discuss projects further afield on a case-by-case basis.

  • Do you work outside of the UK?

Currently, our services are focused within the UK. However, we are open to exploring select international projects depending on location, logistics, and scale.

  • What kind of service can I expect from Pavilion Co.?

From the very first consultation, our team handles every detail — from concept sketches and layout planning to sourcing appliances, timber framing, and final installation. We manage the entire process in-house to ensure a seamless experience, giving you confidence that your project will be delivered on time and to the highest standard.

Where necessary, Pavilion Co. will also act as the principal designer, contractor, and architect, taking care of planning permission applications, building regulations, and all compliance requirements. This means you can trust us to oversee every stage of your project, from the first sketch to the finished build.

  • What do I need to know about my project before I contact you?

Nothing technical is required — just an idea of how you’d like to use your space. Whether it’s hosting large gatherings, creating a family cooking area, or adding a pavilion for year-round use, we’ll guide you through what’s possible. Site dimensions and photographs are always helpful, but not essential at the enquiry stage.

  • What timber/material is used to build the outdoor kitchens/BBQ Areas?

We use sustainably sourced oak for our framed pavilions, giving them a timeless character and strength. Our outdoor kitchen cabinetry is made from durable, weather-resistant materials, combined with premium stone worktops and high-quality appliances. Every element is chosen to perform beautifully in an outdoor environment while maintaining a refined aesthetic.

  • How much does a Pavilion Co. outdoor kitchen/BBQ area cost?

Each project is completely bespoke, so costs vary depending on size, materials, and specification. As a guide, our outdoor kitchens typically start from £45,000 and increase with added features such as pizza ovens, islands, bar areas, or integrated appliances. We provide a full transparent quotation after your initial design consultation.

  • What is your payment structure?

To begin your project, we require a 50% deposit. This allows us to order materials, secure appliances, and schedule our craftsmen. The remaining 50% balance is then structured around agreed key milestones during the build, ensuring payments align with progress and delivery.

  • How long does it take to build?

On average, once designs are agreed and planning (if required) is approved, installation takes between 6–10 weeks, depending on the complexity of the project. This includes groundwork, joinery, installation of appliances, and final detailing.

  • Do these structures require planning permission?

In many cases, outdoor kitchens and BBQ areas fall under permitted development rights, meaning planning permission may not be required. However, this depends on the scale of the project, your property type (for example, listed or in a conservation area), and local authority regulations. We handle all planning enquiries and, if needed, will manage the full application on your behalf.

  • What is the Guarantee?

All Pavilion Co. projects are backed by a 10-year structural guarantee on our oak frames, as well as manufacturer warranties on appliances and materials. We also provide aftercare advice to ensure your outdoor kitchen or pavilion continues to perform beautifully for years to come.
